Arch pieces can be made on the curve or straight across. They come with sturdy ribbons integrated into the design, so you can tie the arch piece to the arch for the ceremony, then easily take it down and display it somewhere else for the reception. Most of my couples who choose the straight across style set theirs on a tray and use it as the decor for the head table.
Statement arrangements are usually made for the back of the aisles, or to accompany each side of the arch piece, giving you the feel of a fully decked out arch for a fraction of the cost. Statement arrangements can also be easily moved from ceremony to reception.
